AI Agents That Pay for Genomic Data

Your DNA files live in secure cloud storage. An on-chain routing system called BioRouter lets AI agents discover, access, and pay for your biodata automatically, without ever exposing where your files are stored. Built on our Sequentia blockchain, it turns every genomic file into a priced digital asset.

Step 1 — Register

Lab Registers Your Files

When a lab sequences your DNA, each file (BAM, VCF, FASTQ, annotated SQLite) is registered on-chain as a BioAsset. The blockchain records what exists and who owns it, but never where it is stored. Your file locations remain private in an encrypted off-chain database.

Step 2 — Discover & Pay

AI Agent Requests Access

A Claude-based research agent finds your BioAsset through the on-chain registry. It sends a micropayment in USDC using the x402 protocol (HTTP 402 — "Payment Required"). The payment is converted to BIOIP tokens and credited to your account. You earn every time your data is used.

Step 3 — Access

Temporary Download Link

After payment is verified, the BioRouter API generates a time-limited download URL (expires in 1 hour). The agent downloads the file, runs its analysis, and the link disappears. No permanent access is ever granted. You can revoke consent at any time and all future requests are blocked instantly.

Six Smart Contracts

The BioRouter system is deployed as six interconnected contracts on the Sequentia blockchain. Each handles a specific part of the genomic data economy.

  • BIOIP Token — 1 billion ERC-20 tokens. Patients earn BIOIP every time their data is accessed. Researchers stake BIOIP to unlock files. 2% of every transaction is burned.
  • BioRouter — Privacy-preserving registry. Maps opaque identifiers to consent status. Never stores file locations on-chain. The actual cloud paths live only in an encrypted API.
  • BioAsset Vault — Each biosample becomes a parent asset, with individual child assets for each file (BAM, VCF, FASTQ, etc). Researchers can access files individually or as a bundle.
  • Pricing Oracle — Prices each file based on rarity, variant count, annotation depth, and whether it contains somatic mutations. Rare variants in cancer genomes are worth more than common genotypes.
  • BioRecovery — Lost your wallet? Your DNA is your backup. A 96-SNP fingerprint comparison at the original lab can recover your account. Also enables inheritance: children can prove biological relationship and inherit BioAssets.
  • Agent Registry — AI agents register with their capabilities and payment methods. Builds reputation over time. Claude Code agents, research bots, and clinical pipelines all participate as first-class entities.

How It Looks for a Claude Code Agent

If you use Claude Code (Anthropic's CLI for developers), you already understand how AI agents work. A BioFS agent works the same way, but for genomic files instead of code repositories.

The patient never has to do anything. Their consent is set once. Every time an AI agent uses their data, BIOIP tokens flow automatically into their GenoVault. Think of it as streaming royalties for your DNA.

The x402 protocol is the same standard Anthropic uses for Claude agent payments. When an agent hits a data endpoint and gets HTTP 402 ("Payment Required"), it knows exactly how to pay. No login screens. No API keys. Just wallet-to-wallet micropayments.
